Sometimes a chocolate chip cookie just won’t cut it, which is why our matcha cream cheese cookie recipe makes for a great alternative. If you love the savory taste and health benefits associated with matcha green tea, then combine that with cream cheese cookies to make a fantastic new dessert. Additional flavors or ingredients can be added to bolster the cookie, including shredded coconut, almonds, raisins or sprinkles. Give this recipe a try in your home and enjoy!
-1 Tbsp AOI MATCHA POWDER
-2 1/4 Cups All Purpose flour
-3/4 cup sugar
-1 cup softened butter
-1 tsp vanilla
-3 oz cream cheese
-1/4 tsp salt
-In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, butter, cream cheese, salt, vanilla,and egg yolk until mixture is light and fluffy.
-Beat in a few portions of your flour. Mix each portion until evenly blended.
-When adding the last portion of flour, add in the AOI Matcha Powder.
-Divide the dough into two separate dough balls and roll into logs that measure 2 inches in diameter.
-Cover these logs and refrigerate for 45 minutes – 1 hour.
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a cookie sheet for baking.
-Cut each log into 1/4″ thick round cookies to bake.
-Bake cookies for 10 minutes until the bottom edges are slightly browned.
-Recipe makes 3 dozen cookies.
